Hi,
I believe there are two distinct groups of these "flag" badges, some were manufactured in grey (usually being of better quality); and a 2nd series made from a white plastic.
The white plastic items are considered to be less desirable as they are far less detailed and very brittle.
Best wishes,
john.

You actually have that backwards. The link that Pete provided takes you to our new book on these items. There are in fact 3 different types of these Tag der Wehrmacht flags. The 'grey' type are the standard TdW plastic flags that were sold during the National Street Collection drive by the Winterhilfswerk during the TdW event on March 1940. These are the most common ones and you usually see them over priced by dealers. We sell these for $9.00 each on our website. There are 20 total flags in this set.
Then you have these smaller white plastic flags like the one that the OP posted. These are a set of 10 that were sold in smaller more regional areas. They are about 30% smaller and are much rarer. I have sold these for double the amount of the National flags.
Last but not least you have the wooden versions of these pieces. Again, they were sold in smaller regional areas and are rarer than the National plastic pieces. There are 18 total pieces in the wooden set. I would price these on the same level of the smaller 'white' plastic flags.
There are also paper flags and standards available for the various Wehrmacht branches...if you want that info then buy my book!
Hope any of this helps...

Hi,
D M Alexander, many thanks for your informative reply!
I think that your book is a must buy for WHW collectors, and I certainly will purchase a copy in a couple of months - once I recover from Christmas spending debts!
Got seven of the grey plastic flags, so quite a few to hunt down, I think they display very well and much prefer them to the white plastic ones.
Very best wishes,
John.

I have the grey flags from time to time on our website for sale...but they go pretty fast because we only ask $9.00! I just bought another 30 of them so keep an eye out over the next few months on our site.
Thanks for the kind words on the book...you wont be disappointed with it!
Have a Happy New Year,
Chrys

Hey guys,
I please don't get me wrong...I wasn't implying that the Luftschutz piece didn't exist, only that it is not a part of the plastic WHW flag series. There is period documentation that supports that.
The flag is really cool though...I am sure that it was some sort of donation piece.
Good find by the way!
