Hey guys I found this on line and would very much appreciate your honest assessments?

Sorry but these are the only pictures currently available to me.

            I thought as much.

As they say: "if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is".

Thanks everybody for steering me clear of much such a blunder as purchasing this atrocious counterfeit.

Well that settles it for certain then.

I'll really try not to bother or lean on you guys too much, but henceforth I'm definitely going to depend you you fellows to give me a green light before I make any big ticket purchases.

Now please don't take me wrong here, I have every intention of studying and becoming proficient at assessing the genuineness of a potential relic myself eventually, but until that day arrives I'm going to have to depend on you gentlemen for both direction and guidance.

Once again thank you for pulling me back from the curb.

                Rob,

don't be in such a hurry to buy. Take your time and study the pieces that you're interested in and if you still have questions, we're here.

Erich, I'll definitely heed your sound advice and gear it down a bit.

Another piece of advice is to always make sure you have a return privilege.

All pieces of good advice here, Rob. There is another apt old saying: "Act in haste and repent at leisure!" Not a one of us has lived in this hobby and not made a mistake, so never be too self-conscious to ask for 'a second opinion' -- 'the doctor is always in' on WAF! And do keep reading and, whenever possible, seek out and handle original pieces -- experience takes a long time to accumulate. Best regards,

                      Br. James

Collecting takes time, both in gathering the items, but also in getting more knowledged ABOUT the items. It would be wise to start out first with some more affordable items and in the meantime try to learn and if possible look at the real items. As the others say, the forum is also here to help out, when in doubt: never buy and first ask for help. It's better to be sure than loose a lot of money on a fake item.

                          Thanks for the guidance everyone.

I certainly wish I had joined this forum a few years ago. Right now I'm waiting to hear back from a seller about a NSKK tunic I purchased earlier this year, but now I've learned on this forum it isn't as it should be.

I also have a fair number of medals, badges, books and the like which I have now begun to question as authentic. I actually started collecting items back in 2006 but didn't know of this forum and obviously didn't do my homework before venturing into this avocation.

Anyhow, I will heed everyone's advice by calming down and not behaving like an erratic child in a candy store.

                          Thanks again.

If you are in dire need of a Christmas present for yourself you may want to check Klaus Butschek's auction.

Thanks for the tip der-hase-fee, I just now purchased a 1932 HJ Reichsjugendtag Potsdam and a 1933 NSBO Adel der Arbeit tinnie from Butscheck.
