Wow, looks like an original example to me. One of the best I've seen. Can you post a photo of the catch? How did you acquire this gem?

    Thank you,
    Mike

looks a little bit "cleaned" if we compare it to his one (of course not the same maker but...)

I see what you mean, Pascal, though I have to wonder whether the finish applied to the different makers' badges was identical from firm to firm? Is it not possible that the Fechler factory applied a different chemical finish to the SA Sport Badge in Silver that they made which, after the several decades since manufacture, turned out to have survived better than the finish used by Redo? I also doubt that any of the period manufacturers of most any item conceived of their product being preserved for 75+ years and shipped all around the world! Jut some thoughts...

Thank you, understand your opinion, could it be possible the "FECHLER" badge is an earlier made (pre war) award and the "REDO" more a war time made badge...

The asking price ao the Fechler is currently 160 €uros... That's the reason of my question...

Yes, that is indeed a possibility. Both of these examples are of the SA-Wehrabzeichen, which came into existence in mid-January of 1939, more than half a year before the Polish Campaign began, and remained in production until war's end. The piece produced by Fechler could well have been made to pre-war standards and available materials, while the Redo example may have been made even some years later, when many materials were unavailable or restricted.

I think, pre war or not is not the question - Fechler took the material which just was there.
Fechler started the production very late from number ~ 915 000 till the end ~ 1 000 000. And this in the change with Berg & Nolte and E.Schneider he produced only a few ten thousand and every small series was different.
Also different to the sport type 2 and Wehrabzeichen type 1
Redo produced many badges in huge series, therefore, they look like everytime nearly the same.

                    without number , SA Wehrabzeichen

                    P.S. Pascal - yours is a beauty ;-)
