Tinnie 28/29.5.1838 help please

I don't know much about tinnies and I am hoping someone can help me identify this one. As you can see it reads:

28/29.5.1938
A. NORDMARK-
TREFFEN

What event is this for? Would this have been awarded? Or purchased? Who would have worn it? Is this a common one? A lot of questions, I know...

This is a fairly common tinnie and brings about $25 to $30 retail. I'm a bit surprised to see what looks like an off metal strike of this tinnie and the pitting on the reverse almost makes me believe this is a reproduction of an original. This is almost hard to believe as these don't command enough of a price to warrant reproducing.
