    Enamel Badges for review

I have 4 of these badges on hold. The SS pin is 100% wrong, I believe- also listed in the Cone book as a well known fake. However, I'm asking for your your opinions. I am excited about the gold Arbeit Dank and Female Stahlhelm badge. I know these are fairly common, but so beautiful. The DAF badge worries me.

The red enamel has dirt or trash or flaws of some sort. That smacks of fake. All originals seem to be of outstanding, exceptional quality, but this state leader's badge is highly flawed? There is an identical badge here @ GermanDotMilitaria - again with specks in the red.

It's not dirt, it's black enamel. That's my guess anyways

Black specks in old hard enamel are usually bits of contaminants that oxidize over the years. You also see it in the white part pf party pins. Nothing to worry about. It looks like a nice original.

Please feel free to also contact me directly if you have any concerns about any of the items that I am offering for sale. Of course, feel free to discuss any items here or elsewhere, but do give the seller the curtesy to let him or her know that this is happening to also give them a chance to learn from whatever is being said. As far as I am concerned, the badge that I am offering here is original and the flaws in the red enamel are oxydation that has worked its way through the enamel over the years. However, I would never claim to be 100% right in all my assessments and I am more than willing to accept any proof of me being wrong. Below are all the pics of the badge that I have got up on my site and not just the one pic. I would welcome any further comments re this badge.

            Thank you. Cheers, Torsten.

Torsten, I have purchased from you before. I trust your judgement and I'm happy with my purchases. So when I used a piece from your site, I added your name. To lend credence to the piece. I ended up buying the red DAF pin after all. Seems that there are no other makers. All the red DAF badges (that I could find) are from the same maker and all have tiny flecks. This forum likes it and you clearly do as well. That's good enough for me.

Based on the research from the author of the book 'The Party Badge" these pins are not good.

Wim, the RING FÜR DEUTSCH-ENGLISCHE FREUNDSCHAFT badge is not mentioned in my book at all. (and i have never commented that the badge is a fake either, at any time; either on a forum, a magazine article or a book)) You are getting mixed up between this and the RING FÜR DEUTSCH-BRITISCH-FREUNDSCHAFT. The DEUTSCH-AMERIKA badge is a lousy, and easy to spot fake though.

                            Hi Blackbird939,

I personally consider TR period badges without flecking to the enamel as rather suspicious!
These items are fine, and Torstenbel is a reputable dealer in my opinion.
Do not like the boxing pins though!

                            Best wishes,

                            John.
