Hi Roenk. If I had a choice, I would take the Mothers Cross on the right. The lettering seems better and the stipling in the field behind the letters seems more distinct. I also like the way the swaz connects to the perimeter, and you can clearly see the file marks on the silver inlay that surrounds the swaz. The enamel also looks good to me.

The badge on the left does not display the same level of workmanship, IMO. Especially note how far away the two upper arms of the swaz are from the perimeter.

I couldn't say that the cross on the left is a fake...but I much prefer the cross on the right.

Hi Roenk, I believe your crosses differences are due more to the fact they were made by different manufacture's then if one is a fake or not. I have a bronze cross that has a similar font as the left one of yours and if you look in Angolia's book Political & Civil Awards of the Third Reich he shows two crosses that are much like your left one. That's not saying the right ones bad just different.

They both look okay to me. The repros don't have the same quality enameling on the arms--at least any I've seen in the past.

            Thanks all!

As far as i know, the Mother's Cross have two variants.
            first : 1938-39
            second : 1939-45

            it's really?
