Deschler? The "1" is not a PK-number, it denotes the Erste Stufe. These are generally marked with Godet's PK-number "21". Nice set

                  cheers

                    It's correct.

The only manufacturer authorized to manufacture the order of the German Eagle was GODET (brand manufacturer 21).

The medals were authorized to Hauptmunzamt, Berlin (maker mark 29) and Hauptmunzamt, Wien (maker mark 30)

The maker mark on the ring on your 1St Eagle Order is 21 (GODET), Although you only see a 1

M, I respectfully differ in opinion. Like I already said, the "1" on the obverse denotes the Erste Stufe (1st Class). Should this cross be marked with "21", it would most probably be in conjunction with the "900" on the reverse (where the loop is blocking the view on Andrea's cross.

                        cheers

If you look inside the case top, it will say I stufe, and above it order of the adler. I have one given to a foreign service man from japan named Akira Kodaki, he was the assistant to general Mullins of the Osaka region of Japan under McAurthur. Came right from the generals wife. I posted it recently, looks EYE Dentical!! I think you can get more than 3000 for this medal, as the inflation of money has dropped the value of cash by at least 30%, so my guestimation is around 4000USD , and you will have to recalculate to euros. I you don't get that much do not sell it. Rare to find the early ones like this. Most of the ones shown on the forum are late war, or crapola..as the close ups are never shown ...done purposefully.

notice how the eagles wings are coated with a grey color, and are not all gold colored, so do not shine it up.

Are you seriously suggesting your cross is coated with with grey colour These pieces were made in silver (ag) and the oxidation will easily penetrate the gold colour. Mark my words, it would shine up like a Christnas tree, should you dip it. As for early or not, how can you tell

                            cheers

My opinion is that 1 belongs to the 21 marking, but the full marking is not to be this mark, in the ring of vertical.

Watch this another example which is only 2.....this does not mean is a second-rate. As in the previous example, lack one of the 21 marking numbers
