I am not a tinnie collector. To my inexperienced eye, this looks pretty good. How about educating me as to exactly why this is a fake. If anything, I would have thought of it as a fantasy piece.

      How about a little help?

It's been said for a while now that if your pin has a coffin shaped pin holder, then it is a fake!

          Hello All,
Yes, I agree with Frederic, try to avoid badges with that shape pin holder, notice the difference with these,
          Regards,

Is that a 100% all of the time truism ?

Does any one own a real version of one of these that can be posted ?

            Thanks

It's indeed a fake. Not only is the pin incorrect but so are many of the details of the tinnie itself.

                Sorry,
                Erich

I actually looked through those posts a few days ago. The problem is the first thread (the one you provided) look like yet another fake. Then that thread had a thread referenced which showed some more fakes, and just the front of a real one.

What I am asking is for a full front and back of the real one. Especially since the coffin pin in the back is suppose to be one of the major identifying points.

                    Thanks

                        Authentic - left

                          John,

Is the picture of the 10 set all real, or all fake ?

Do you have a photo of the back of a real one ?

                          Thanks

Also note that the top one posted by Mloppkit is also a fake. (post 5) this badge was not produced with the runes. I also have doubts about the one below as well, but there nothing that I can say with 100% certainty on this badge.

                              Pat,

The picture of 10 is my collection and all are absolutely 100% authentic.

By the way, I believe that your tinnie, the one that began this thread is authentic however, the pin has been replaced with a contemporary piece.
