      Hi Ron,

      It's interesting that this Besitzurkunde had been dated by FX Schwarz as 1942...this must be a replacement of the original document if it were lost or destroyed. The city that Pg. Alois Landmettel (the Trager) lived in is shown as "Bruck a/Mur" or Bridge at/over the Mur. The River Mur originates in the Central European Alps in Austria and eventually runs into the Danube. The "Bridge" is located in Graz, Austria, at the area of the city where the bridge links a chain of river islands to Graz. If this Trager had always lived in Austria he would have been one of the earliest NSDAP members there, as his GPB number was issued in January of 1927.

        Interesting observation on the year of issue. It could have taken Alois Landzettel of Bruck an der Mur (which is north of Graz) so long to substantiate his membership.

        PS: bridge is Brücke in German

                              * Austrian NSDAP membership application (4 photocopies)
                              * Document concerning award of the NSDAP Goldene Ehrenzeichen (1 photocopy)
                              * SS personnel documents (12 photocopies, including 3 pictures of the man)

                              Really cool that i'll be recieving the photocopy from the Archives, picturing my document.

                              Erich besides the ring because an SS Member for 13 years, also some long service award's i guess.

                                From what I see, he was an enlisted man and the GPB alone would qualify him for the ring.
