    Kinderland verschickung

A co-worker who was born in Germany shared these items with me. Some of these items were purchased by his parents during the war. The purpose of buying the tokens was to fund travel for children to a safer place in Germany. This is the only photo I took. All of these items had previously been attached to a board for display purposes. His parents both survived the war.

These are all winterhilfswerk (WHW) items and failry common, given when made a small donation for a certain charity.

The Sudeten Deutsch Partei badge is the rarest of the lot and also the most interesting.

That is a common mistake really. There are Winterhilfswerk pieces, DRK, VDA & DJH donation pieces as well. Most collectors think that they are all WHW...which is not the case. It was a completely different organization that held it's own charity drives.

Our new book coming out will outline these different donation badges for these other various charitable organizations.

      All the best,
      Chrys

        Hi Chrys,

Im looking forward to the new book. Think the Tieste books became somewhat the standard in tinnies, but i must admit it's not always clear what pin belonged to what organisation or charity. Just too many different ones of them around!

Please keep us updated on the new book

        regards,
        Gaston

          Hey Gaston,

Yeah...we are not trying to compete with Mr. Tieste...that would be fool hardy to say the least!

We are trying to provide a solid English language reference book to the WHW and donation badge collecting community. Our first book was strictly on the National WHW campaign (RSS). Where we are different from Mr. Tieste is that all of our photos are in color and our books are larger in size compared to the smaller sized Tieste WHW books. Tieste's books have led the way for many years now...our objective isn't to try and compete with his work...just add another option to a different demographic.

You can keep up with the progress and pre-ordering details at our website here:

          All the best guys,
          Chrys

The best are the 2nd, 4th, & 5th on the second row. No. 4 being the SDP wooden tinnie and No. 5 being a HJ paper? tinnie I have never seen before. Is the 1st on the 3rd. row a whw badge, if so another (one in a series?) I have never seen before.

              Thanks

              Gentlemen,
Thanks for your remarks, I will print and share with my co-worker. Once again this forum has proved to me that I am not the smartest person in the room.
              Have a happy Fourth.
