    NSDAP Party Badge Hoffstätter

Is this a legit early membership badge? I couldn't find other Hoffstätter examples with the marking on the pin mount. The marking is HOFFSTÄTTER BONN and GES. GESCHÜTZT. No markings on the back of the badge, only on the pin mount.

    Thanks,
    Greg

Same pin mount appears on back of their 1929 Reichsparteitag pin.

              Hi Greg,

While I hesitate to mention this publication given the recent poor review it received in another thread here, the Bonn firm of Ferdinand Hoffstätter is listed in Michael F. Tucker's reference work, "N.S.D.A.P. Enamel," published in 2005, as one of the manufacturers of the Party Membership Badge, though under their RZM license of M1/15. Hope this is of help to you.

                Hi Br. James,

Thanks; I had seen other Hofstaetter markings on the backs of enamel party badges, but not on the pin mount. But I'm glad to hear it's good!

                Best,
                Greg

If I remember it right it was only allowed for a short time to put the mm on the pin plate. After a while it was forbidden. I have a Max Kremhelmer with the mm on the same place.

                  Regards, Wim
