        Hi Tim,

        Mussert was the leader of the dutch NS party called NSB. The Mussert-Guard was a paramilitary organization, which was the predecessor of the Nederlandsche SS.

          Already " better " made than the obvious screwback Polish repro's , but one thing the fakers have always been wrong about , is the SIZE of these . Originals were no larger than the " Strijd en Offer " badges ..

            The very first period picture of one in wear recently surfaced & was published in " SIPO en SD in Twente 1940-1945 " by C.B. Cornelissen ;

              A highly recommended publication ( ISBN 978-90-9025369-5 ) from 2010 , with a treasure trove of pictures of Dutch SD , Landwacht , etc.

                Fake, but indeed better made as winkelman said.

                Behind the size, the enamel is crapy too. On the screwbacks it even had looks like some kind of plastic enamel.

                  I don't have anything that measures in mm.'s so I had to use a tape measure that measures using the inch. These measure approximately 1 1/2" so I guess that closes the door on these.
