Golden Party Badge of the NSDAP

Not my area guys but I checked the Golden Party Badge web site and this one seems to have all the bells and whistles. I would appreciate informed opinions and any information on tracking down the recipient.
    Thanks,
    Garth

      Garth.

      That's a textbook example of a GPB.

You can't get a better one than that. Right maker, right fittings, right condition - right everything. Even the right amount of honest wear.

It could be difficult tracking down the number though, unless the holder was an SS officer which is really a shot in the dark.

      Best regards,

      Robin.

Nice badge, only the red enamel doesn't look right - might be the picture, though.

If you want to know more about the recipient of your badge, maybe you can find help here: http://www.militariaresearch.com/

I see some problems with this badge.

Here is a side by side comparison with the real Deschler from http://www.geocities.com/goldpartypin/genuinelarge.html

The red enamel looks more like paint. It should be translucent. Notice how the letters on the real Deschler are much fatter and almost fill the entire height of the red strip. The badge in question has a lot of red at the top and bottom of the letters.

                  The reverse:

Notice how the numbers are much fatter and spaced farther apart on the real Deschler. Notice how much more space the 5 digits take up on the reverse of the badge. Notice the difference in the fonts (compare the '2's).

The badge in question looks much more like the fake posted here: http://www.geocities.com/goldpartypin/fakesnew2.html except that the center ridge in the leaves is not pronounced.

The badge in question also seems to have the beveled edge that is not on originals.

I suspect they may have fixed the center ridge problem on the fakes and have stopped using the 3's and 4's in the numbers that were obviously wrong.

I can provide you with an e-mail address of someone who may be able to help. I don't want to post it (don't know whether okay or not), so just contact me.
Thank you for your comments. The red enamelling of the badge is a very nice red, the lighting I used to take the picture makes it look paler than it really is.

Thank you for your comments but with Robin and Laurence's comments plus a close look at the GPB site I have confidence thi badge is genuine.

                        Garth,
I know what you mean. Sometines the red enamel on these badges are
                        tricky to photograph correctly.
