Hitlerjugend (?) cloth and metal badges (sport ?) - Identification

    Hello,

A friend of me has a few german insignia of the second world war and I'm currently trying to identify them for him. He's not a collector, and so I try to help him as best as possible. He found them in his house in a small metal tabacco box, with a few other insignia Sadly, I'm absolutely not familiarized with WW2 material... so I need your help if possible (thanks in advance !).

    He has these insignia in the lot ;

I identified this first insignia as HJ proficiency award for members 10 to 14 years old (Für Leistungen in der Hitlerjugend). Is that correct ?

And here's the second one, in metal this time :

And for this one, I identified it as "DEUTSCHES REICHSABZEICHEN FUR LEIBESUBUNGEN". Apparently, it was gold plated, but I'm not sure. The spindle on reverse is broken.

Can you please tell me if my identification is correct ? And also if they are original or repro ? In my opinion, they are both real insignia, but again, I'm absolutely not a specialist.

And finaly, are they rare ? What's their value ?

Thanks in advance for your responses,

    P-E

    P-E,
Your identification is correct....basically. The HJ is a machinewoven "Bevo" version...common, reproduced, worth between $35.00 to $120.00 depending on the seller and the buyer...(90.00 is about right, if real!)

The DRL is pretty much a "clunker" in that condition....I doubt anyone would pay $20.00 for "no finish, no pin, broken catch example (and I doubt it was actually the gold class....but not worth discussing why!)...it would be a scarce badge if it was a Gold one and in great condition....most DRLs are very common. This one's way too far gone in any case....!

Show the "other insignia".....sometimes there's a treasure in the details....

      Hello again,

Thanks for this first response, it's realy friendly.

Here's another one from the HJ that was also in the metal tabacco box :

I identified it as a HJ insignia, for a boy (yellow color) from the West Westfalen area. I also think he's original, but don't know the value.

And I posted the other german insignia in another topic, because I don't think they are HJ or political badges. So here're them :

Thanks again for your response !
