    HJ - Japanese Youth Exchange Badges

    Hello
    it's j think one of the German-Japanese Youth Exchange Badges may be from the 1938 visit of HJ in Japan
    thanks for information about those badges
    this one was found in Tokyo last year with the original box

    Maybe a stupid question but what language did they spoke agains each other?

      The badge is a tinny, which was sold, and not the official granted version, which was enameled and given to the guys visiting Japan officially. The shown version anyway is a great badge and very rare.

      As far as I know they may have spoken some english and were accompanied by interpreters from Japan who did speak German. If they had much contact with the Japanese population I doubt. When with meetings there always were Japanese males around them, that may have helped with the language. I will see if there is being told something about this aspect in the newspapers/papers I do have.
