Very early NSDAP Badge

Here are some pics of my latest addition to my NSDAP pins. This is a very early party pin with the wording of the national socialist workers party. The piece looks much better in hand. Enjoy the pics

I don't know what it is but IMO it has nothing to do with an early NSDAP badge.
Latest research has clearly pointed out that the first prototypes / patents for the NSDAP membership pin where pretty much the same as the later RZM pieces. They were only a bit more crude in appereance.

I like it. My guess is it is a post-1923 local or splinter group. The key to who it is is the "St. A." at the bottom.

What an unusual piece! While I certainly respect Wim's opinion, I find it very hard to believe that this piece "has nothing to do with an early NSDAP badge." What else could it represent? As Stephen noted, the key must be found in whatever the "St. A." at the bottom of the surround refers to.

Did the SA ever use "St.A." as an abbreviation? Just a wild thought.

I like it. I suspect it could be Austrian as the font is reminiscent of the Hitlerbewegung badges (most of which are fake, but originals do exist), & the early Austrian organisations were less regulated than in Germany. If it is Austrian, the St.A could be for St. Anton in the Tirol?

The St. could stand for "Steirischen" as in the Austrian National Socialist "Steirischen Heimatschutz" movement. ??
