    Jungsturm Adolf Hitler

In the last issue if the magazine "International Medal Collector" was a very informative article bt Hugh Brock about the Honor Badge of the Jungsturm Adolf Hitler (aka Hitler Youth Blood Order Badge).

The upcoming auction of Hermann Historica in Munich as the special badge of the Jungsturm for Adolf Hitler with the following description:

    Badge of the Jungsturm Hitler
example for Adolf Hitler from the inheritance of Adolf Lenk (1903 - 1987).
Stamped silver with continuous "9. NOV. Jungsturm Hitler 1921/1923", the reverse with silver punch and engraving "UNSERM FÜHRER ADOLF HITLER IN TREUE GEWIDMET MÜNCHEN 9. NOV. 33" (To our Führer Adolf Hitler Given in Loyalty). Weight 23.8 g. Included is the original brown case with red velvet liner. Further, three books, two by Hans Zöberlein with dedication to (tr) "old fighter and Party comrade Lenk", the book "Die junge Kameradschaft" with a long dedication from the HJ District Leader of Nuremberg (tr) "To the leader of former Jungsturm Adolf Hitler comrade Lenk on the day of a..."
The offered badge comes from the estate of the initiator and youth leader of "Jungsturm Hitler" Adolf Lenk, and according to his statement the badge was ordered by him as a gift of honour, for the "Führer" in order to give it to him on the anniversary of 9 November 1933. Lenk states that Hitler received the gift, but returned it to Lenk a few days later with the brief explanation that he could not accept it.
As soon as Adolf Lenk came of age, he joined the NSDAP on 16 February 1921, as a result of his pressure in 1920 he had been entrusted by then DAP party chief Anton Drexler with the establishment of a youth movement. Lenk took part with his brother in the attempted putsch of November 1923, and following the ban on the Nazi party he proceeded with indifferent success to attempt to establish various youth organisations. After the fascist takeover of power, Lenk became an SA leader and made several attempts to be recognised by high leadership as a founder of the Hitler Youth, but instead this had the effect of making him extremely unpopular. This was the likeliest reason for Hitler's refusal to accept the badge. In 1941 Lenk was excluded from the NSDAP for unauthorised wearing of the Blood Order (despite the fact that he was a participant, no award had ever followed)."

Attached is the regular Jungsturm Badge.

A very rare and desirable badge. It's known that more than a few recipients of the BO were the ages of 14 to 19.

          Dietrich,

There are several noticable differences bewteen the badge that you've offered and the subject from Hermann's. Most notable is the reverse differences between the H.H. item and the item shown on your magazine I.M.C. Where the H.H. piece seems very amaturish and crudly done.

          ?????

The spacing of the lettering on the badge offered by HH is not very good. One would expect to see a better effort made on the stamping on such an import badge. I haven't seen any others before and when first seeing the HH badge i was quite impressed, after at closer inspection some strange details come to light.... Can we maybe see the reverse of the other badge to compare?

I'd love to see one of these for real one day!

            best regards,
            Gaston

I do not like the reverse, simply put it looks modern. There are a few people who own these badges, I would like their input and although I may well be wrong , god knows I have been, this badge DOES not stand up as a dedication piece.

I found once a decent BO group with an original JAH badge, if one knows how an original looks like can easy spot how a copy looks like.
I found/seen so far only one original example, thats the one I got ones.

Agree, I own the blood order that came with the badge but unfortunately could not afford both at the time, maybe 7 or 8 years ago.
Robert do you know if the owner still has it?

I remember when you had both the badge and BO Robert and both were amazing items. Glad to know the BO went into Jon's collection. Wish I had the cash back in the day!

Weitze has had a Jungstrum Hitler badge on his site for quite sometime.

Nice Jon, the one that I remember and wish I had the cash for at the time.
