Help Identifying Pin

I bought the below pin which reads Gottschee and contains the city seal on an online auction site. I did so more or less on impulse as this was my grandparent's town and items from there are hard to come by. Not quite sure what it is or what organization it relates to, but any help pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Gerdan- I don't believe it is a VDA pin. It is more of a stick pin than the "safety pin" style of the VDA tinnie.

Uwe- what do you mean by a souvenir for visitors? Do you mean this is something that would be in gift shops today, or something old?

The pin should be an old one from the time before 1941.

exactly - you understood my intention. I only wanted to demonstrate the Gottschee relation of that pin and show an other pin of that kind - far away from VDA.

I bought this not knowing exactly what it was because collecting something as obscure as Gottschee sometimes things don't come up twice. I have had glass and regular tinnies, and an old newspaper article from Kolnisch Zeitung.

I'd really like to find a Heereskarte of the area, and a pipe dream would be old issues of the local newspaper Gottscheer Zeitung. But I have never seen either of those items.

In the US Library of Congress there is a microfilm of the "Gottscheer Zeitung" from

1924 - 1941.

May be they sent you a copy of that film.
