    Front Bahn badge

    Stan,

Will you please confirm and elaborate on your below statement.

"Klietmann wrote an article about these "Tradition" badges in OMJ No. 31 in 1997"

I have attempted to locate that article but I was unable to find it under 'Frontbahn' or 'Tradition' badges. You do mean 'OMJ' the Orders And Medals Society journal, 'The Medal Collector"?

Any help will be appreciated or if you would be so willing, would you please copy the article for me and send it?

Thanks very much and best regards,

    John Pepera

        Hi Stan,

No wonder I couldn't find it after going through a mound of records listing back issues of
'The Medal Collector' and all articles by Dr. Kleitmann.

If you will copy and send a copy I will be most appreciative and of course I will compensate you for any cost and postage.

        Please send to:

Stan, I am deeply appreciative for your efforts.<O
        Thank you and best regards,

I am glad to see this thread and will post my examples tomorrow if possible. I have a button hole , stick pin , and badge. the badge is unmarked and I always thought it was early and pre RZM.

Many thanks to Stan for his gracious offering and sending a PDF file of information about this very early and elusive badge.

            THANKS Stan.

Hi Guys, I just went and got mine out of the bank vault so here we go. I think this is one of the original badges that are pre RZM. The detail is very crisp and the lines in the swaz are sharp. Some things I noticed on some of the previously posted badges are:

              1) The shape of the vent in the helmet on the first one is different.
              2) The font in the w's and o's
              3) The orientation of the pin.
              4) The style of the pin attachment plate

My Pin is very similar to the Z.M.Ost pin by comparing the fonts, vent, pin, keeper, and overal line quality.

Now here are a couple of hens teeth. These two pins came togeather. First is a stick pin that actually has paper words on it. Secondly there is a buttonhole with the number 753 on it. Who was number 753?

There are a few more threads here on WAF regarding the Frontbann badge, but very few about the stick pin. So reviving this one.

How do you like this one from Weitze's update today ?

Usually you'd find high magnification pictures, but not this time. Why would he post so awful pictures to begin with ?
