What if anything is known about this pin? I believe it to be genuine because of where it came from. Please some opinions plus value as I'm going to pass it on.

Some claim that it is a NSD (Nationalsozialistischer Deutscher Frontkämpfer-Bund "Stahlhelm) pin?
100% Definately not SS.

Military is correct. This is not an SS tinnie. Many either confuse the Wolfsangle on this pin for two Sig runes or assume the Wolfsangle is exclusive to the SS.
Still a nice little tinnie though.
