    Kyle,

According to the author J.R. Cone, in his book on enameled badges, your badge was instituted in 1939 and was given to any member of the NSDAPStB (Studentenbund) who made some sort of notable contribution to the party or the war effort. Exact criteria for award is not known, Exactly how many badges awarded is not known, but Cone estimated that as many as 45,000 were produced. I have not been able to identify the maker who uses M1/33.

      Ken,
Thanks , that is most useful as for the M1/33 - the maker of the pin in question-it is presumably lost in the tatters of the reich after the collapse. As I understand there cannot be a complete list of "known" makers due to the destruction wrought upon the reich.Indeed so many records were lost in the inferno I would love for example to have had access to the Office of November 8/9th and the Blood Order Lists.
      Anyhow thanks Ken !

        Kyle,

Re the Blood Order, the best list I have found was published by Klaus D. Patzwall a few years ago.

All of my M lists skip from M1/32 to M1/34. I think Ken is correct when he says that this maker may be lost to history.

            Dear Ken and Richard,

Thanks, I was rather sloppy earlier, I was referring to the second issue Blutorden rather than the Putsch variety which are covered-1500 or so.
            Cheers Kyle
