                Checking, I find both of mine (Laurer and a Balmberger) are bronzed steel.
                This one looks like zinc, was it made in zinc? Is this piece magnetic? Does it bend or make a black mark on paper?

                    I don't like this one. Detail too flat and too much bubbling on the reverse. These were much better struck in the original and the quality was much better than this one in 1935. JMO.

                      HI Erich, I have one like it that I picked up in a lot and it has a casting seem along the edge and I think it is made of some lead alloy or the like. My example does leave a mark like a pencil when you drag it along paper. I am also not keen on the reverse assembly but everything together makes me a downer on this one...my example actually has better details than this one without the rough texture on the reverse but the seem on the edge is the kiss of death, John
