SA Treffeb BRaunschweig 1931 - round wreath

Hello All - I can't remember having seen one of these posted before with the so called round wreath. From what I can tell it looks good to me other than the fact it's not in great condition and the pin seems to have been re-attached upside down.

    What do you think?

    Curt

How does one edit the title of a thread? My fingers obviously got ahead of my brain on this one - SA Treffen Braunschweig

Curt, I'm not a fan of these badges without the S over the R in Treffen and without impressed lettering. Others find them okay but not me.

Hi Erich - I understand what you are saying and that is kind of what I want to hear. On the other hand this is true in regards to the oval ones. From what little I have seen about the round wreath the SA letters get shifted but of course I am a complete amateur. I have seen a lot of your posts and I respect your opinion regarding political stuff.

That's what this is all about and I hope there will be some other comments. For or against!

        SA-Treffen 1-st type

        Hi Curt,

My only comment is that Erich is right on every count.

Erich is right and this is what you should look for.
          Hope the images help.

The advice is to get those with letters that are embossed on these first type badges.
I would also find it odd to have the pin being attached upside down.

Right from a veteran this year

Hi Forum, I was going to post this badge the other day and ran out of time so I will place it here. This badge came right from a veteran last month with a few other tinnies. This badge has the old solder on it and the details are sharp and nice. It is just like the one from Curt and even a bit of the silver wash is still on it. There is no question in my mind that this badge is original and look at the detail in the wreath etc.

                          Curt, That badge is original!

Look at the quality and thickness of the lettering in Braunschweig as well. There may be an "A" and a "B" version here and I would not exclude the badge Military shows either. It does have great charachteristics as well. So why dont we call Militarys badge a Type"A" since it is closer to what we would call typical, and we can refer to the other two as a Type"B" with the raised thicker lettering.

As I said in my first post, some like them but I personally don't. I don't see this early badge sold at the event having more than one maker. To each his own!

Thanks to all for their input. Sounds like the proverbial can of worms. I am certainly not knowledgable enough to pass judgement on this so I appreciate the input.

                              D. Funk - that certainly is a good looking one. Far better looking than mine!

I will continue looking for examples out on the 'interweb" and elsewhere to throw into the mix for this discussion.
