Mike, I have one also I was told that it's a donation badge given to supporters of the NSDAP. Very nice example not a common pin.

The badge is shown in Cone's book "One People, One Reich...", on page 59. As has already been mentioned, it is a donation pin, specifically for the Winter Relief Work or WHW (Winterhilfswerkes) scheme. Cone goes on to say that it is believed that the enamel example (as yours Mike) was given out during the winter of 34/35.

      Best regards,
      Toby.

Thanks james and Toby. Makes sense to me now. I was wondering how the fire fit in with the swaz. Mike

One sees the fire in a lot of WHW items. Mostly in the tinnies and such. Might have something to do with helping to keep the troops warm. Just a guess but not uncommon with WHW tinnies and badges. Mike

Thanks guys for all the feedback on this pin. I do have a curiosity though. How much is the value? I paid $35.00 for it. Did I pay to much? thanks. Mike
