The brass with silver plate type such as this have been available for years, I've always thought fake. You can buy them from Germania International.

The type accepted as real are a cu/al/cu sandwich construction and different shape.

nice i like them. as before posted i have this item too, nasty heavy one and fairly big plakette/badge. quedlinburg was Himmlers point out place where he will be reborn acording to SS mytologi, but i havent seen him arround yet

A great piece Carsten and the first that I have seen. I think that Himmler thought that the Bamberger Reiter was the likeness of King Heinrich.

I don't care for the silver types either. The only type I would have is the cupal variation. I'm still on the hunt for one.

Thanks folks, cupal as John pointed out. I was pretty much 100% sure it was good considering the source. It is not yet mine but was coincidentally offered to me just recently.
