Well, not being a expert on these badges, but this one looks really bad..any reason to think that it is not a reproduction badge?? Mike

Fake DRL bronze sports badge?

Has anyone ever seen a genuine DRL sports badge without any marking on the reverse whatsoever? I can't think of one... While it is possible that the obverse could be worn down by a piece being buried in the ground for decades, such a situation would assumedly not completely oblitherate any markings on the reverse while maintaining the convex nature of the piece.

Yes,
DRL badges (of course DRL with swastika) without maker marks exist:
1. Definitely as a copy, e.g. from Souval (Souvalklaue)
2. As originals or not originals?
2.1. With a design like this piece here in the thread. I have two pieces, but both with other different needles.
2.2. With a design like the post WWII DRL without the swastika, I have two pieces, both with different needles.
My personal opnion: Both are post WWII pieces from two different makers.
The first maker I could not identify. I have compared the pieces with all the known makers.
The second maker should be (is) ST. & L.
