Fake or genuine???

What do you think of this enameled badge. I noted a similar one inCowdery's book on Para-Military Orgs. and their badges. What's different is the lack of swastika, mother and child positioning, and first letter on left side of badge is different. What do you guys think??

I don't like the look of the grind marks in the metal part of it. remindes me of fake polish stuff I have. can we see the back? Don't pay my opinion much heed though, i am FAR from an expert!

I would have agree with Sal on the quality of the finish work on the front of this pin also the attachment pin used here is not normally found on period pieces so IMO if it's supposed to be pre 45 I would say fake.

I concur...but feel it may be real post 45 pin since lacking the swaz.....

This was for the Deutscher Hebammenschaft (DH), later the Reichs Hebammenschaft (RH - with swastika). Related and using the same design were the pre-Nazi Allgemeiner Deutscher Hebammenverband (ADHV on the arms of the cross), which became the Reichsfachschaft deutscher Hebammen (with RDH and a swastika).

The front doesn't bother me because a lot of this stuff starts to look funny when it's been enlarged so much. I'm not crazy about the pin, but really can't imagine somebody picking this one out to reproduce. At the very least they'd do the Nazi version.
