My new lot of tinnies ... some questions, your comments are welcome!

    ... just arrived today!

I will do some REAL close-ups over the weekend and post them here, but here's a first impression of what I received:

The top one's I haven't seen up to now - something with VDA is mentioned on them ... also I wouldn't recognize the yellow one, the round ones and the triangle one

Your first comments are very welcome - I will have more pictures available by the weekend!

    Thanks,

    Kev

Hi Kev - nice varied lot. You are correct that the top ones are VDA (from a set of 59 if I counted properly) althought the top right one does not belong to the set. Nor do the 2 with the blue flags although they are VDA as well. The one to the right of the 2 blue flags belongs to the Innere Mission which I belive was associated with the evangelical church. The 3 round ones with planes are DLV. The triangular one belongs to the Reichsmuetterdienst (Reich mother's service). The yellow one is also Reichmuetterdienst and comes in 9 known variants. Other than that looks like a nice little collection of Tag der Arbeit, 1. Mai, WHW, Luthertag (round bronze/copper one with flower) and some miscellaneous ones.

Thanks for the info ... as I said, one the weekend you will find a lot more detail shots but your further mentioned ones are 100% right on - great!

Do you have a complete overview of the 59 VDA set which you mention? That'd be great!

very nice kev ! the one with rope is realy neat looking ! great find...
        Yes,

I like this one as well. It calls out: "NS Winterkampfspiele Villach 1939" on the back - but seems to me like kind of selfmade ... don't know.

Maybe some close ups will help here as well!

        Thanks guys,

        keep on postin' ...

Hi Kev - The Villach one does not appear in Tieste although there is another one for 1939 Winterkampfspiele which has the eagle and a coat of arms underneath. I imagine someone just stuck that one on a piece of rope.

Here is a scan from the Tieste VDA catalogue with all the cities represented in that set. Some come in cardboard (Pappe). It says 58 but Sohrau comes in metal and cardboard.

              Weekend = picture taking time!

My cam enjoyed today same as I - so here we go with some better pictures of this lot.

Let me know what further comments you have ... I would be curious to understand something more about the very last one.

              It says:

              NS Winterkampfspiele Villach 1939

on the back, but does not look officially issued to me ...

              Thanks again!

                  Thanks!

But it's only 5 of the 1. May - the last one on that picture is "Tag des deutschen Handwerks 1939" = Day of the German handcraft 1939.

                  Still good then ... ?

                    Hi folks,

does someone have a idea about the last one with the string?

I browsed a lot but did not find anything ...

thanks & have a great Easter!

Hi Kev - to me it looks like more of a seal of some sort (if that is the correct term in this case). Since it is 2-sided and the features are not sharply defined and there is no evidence of any pin having been attached. Is the metal soft like lead?

                        Curt,

seems to be right - because when I try to "push" on the metal with my fingernail, it is quite soft ...

Thanks a lot - let's see what I find by looking for "seals" ...

                            ... and again some more!

I think I need to start thinning them out, the double ones I don't need

                            Any comments from your side?

                            Thanks!
