    1931 S.A. Skimeisterschaft

    Deutsche SA Skimeisterschaft 1931.

Not one really inclined to say rare or not rare, although I am staggered that Tieste regards this very early and in my opinion, rare and quite unusual SA event badge as "common".

To my mind SA 1931 is hard to find, however SA 1931 Ski - crikey!

    Any comments greatly welcome.

    Regards,

    David

Very unusual pin setup, i don,t see how you would attach it to
      a shirt or uniform

A really neat badge. This is "common"? This is very helpful to me, because I own the 1933 badge that has the SA/SS runes incorporated into a ski jump on a pair of skis. The 1931 badge was clearly the thought child for the 1933 badge. Thanks.

The original Pin has been removed at some time, you can still see where it was, so the owner did this, and added whatever he did, on purpose, maybe to attach it to something else?
David, i would not pay too much attention to Tiestes prices or evaluations. Same goes for Hüsken. btw, Tieste values the SA-Mein Kampf tagungsabzeichen you showed a few months ago at 100 Euros

Thanks to all and really and in my slightly Neanderthal sort of way, I think that this SA badge is very unusual, very important and very rare (he would say that wouldn't he). The affixing device is intriguing as I suppose that those two possibly non simpatico blades really are intent to hold on to and grip with a vengeance. Not to a shirt perhaps.

Josef - thankyou. Much as I like the brace of Tieste catalogues as a leafing through publication, I have long disregarded the slightly interesting valuations which are suggested (I wish). Your comments are as always greatly appreciated.

            David

              hi all

yer david imm a bit late maybee, but your SA ski 31 IS very rare and whit a war repair imo nicely done and wont take any value off- and whit a original hinge from another orig. headgear badge. The badge is related to the Hochland people or later in history the Gebirgsjägers where it was normal to place the badges on the hat like the edelweiss. The badge gary is refering too is a bit older and listet in a pic below but same katagory. The very early SA badges is yet to come thoe not to forget history the early Partaitage whit NSDP later NSDAP was 1923 (mostly freikorps )- 25- 27- 29 and you know the rest, and ill wonder big time if not we will find badges from maybee 25 or atleast from 27 not seen yet, nextweek ill post one of these extremely rare SA badges not yet inlisted in tiestes book. So gents LET THE HUNT BEGIN, the 31 badges is still one of the most popular badges to collect imo- still David very nice and rare badge, KEEP it in a safe

              cheers guys
