        Hi Didier:

As Winstin says, not really rare. It comes in 3 versions. Bronze, silver and gold. Tieste shows a value of 30 Euros. I'm fairly sure that this is related to the return of the Saar to the Reich.

          Hi Didier,

Curt is right, its for the return of the saarland to the reich. I am not sure if it is a Gautag badge, though the Gau for sure was covered with festivities. Maybe some other member knows more on the classification.

              Dear friends,

The plebicite to restore the mining and heavy industry region of the Saar to Germany took place on January 13, 1935, during which over 90% of the population voted to secede from France as established under the Treaty of Versailles. The legal reunification of the Saarland with Germany took effect on March 1, 1935 and this badge commemorates that historic event. Undoubtedly there would have been many local events throughout the region celebrating reunification, and across Germany, as well.
