GAU München Badge - Help !

I purchased this Gau Munich Commemorative Badge from jazz24ffm that he had for sale on the wehrmacht e stand and posted it on the forum at GD. dot. com. Some questions have come up about a lack of a makers mark etc., and this badge is a little different from most that I've seen. jazz24ffm has agreed to hold on to the badge until we get this cleared up. I hope you guys can help.
Here's the link to the other thread.

    Thanks jamie

I have HEARD that ALL of these should be made by Deschler and marked as such, but I do not know if this is just a collector´s myth. Logic would tell me that there have been more makers than just Deschler.

Frank--does your comment mean the badge is okay in your mind or it is bad?? Mike

I tend to agree with Frank's opinion about more than one maker, because over the years I have noticed two distinct styles of the '1933' stamp in the center...

            1933

I agree, there seem to be at least 2 designs as far as the 1933 markings go. I can't remember seeing an unmarked example, though, or one marked by a company other than Deschler.

I found a picture of a gau münchen ehrenzeichen in an auction catalog of Mr. Zeige. IMO no differnce concerning the date.
                  Sorry for the bad scan....

I am no expert on these badges. I have one similar to yours that was given to me by an uncle in 1955 when I was a kid. It has the same type of pin back and no makers mark either.
I am reasonably sure the one given to me is a good one in that I do not believe that any were being reproduced at that time. My uncle was a 45th Div. vet and and had a bunch of military trophy's from Germany and told me that he had picked it up there.
                    Just my opinion.
I have owned mine for 49 years.

One last time--This thread sounds like a Bush and Kerry speech..Lots to say but nothing said.. Is this badge good or bad..I don't mean to be a pain in the ass but I don't see where anyone has said it is or not. Mike

I think the badge in question is very likely an original.
                          Cheers, Frank

Based on the available information, I would agree. The detail and material/finish look right.

                              What about mine ?

                              Hello !
This a pictures of "my" badge. Would you declare it as well genuine ? Ok, the numbers of "1933" are different, but watch the maker-mark : DESCHLER U.SOHN MÜNCHEN
Thanks for your opinions in advance !
                              Jo.E.
