    Hiem Ins Reich Badge

I have seen these from time to time and always wondered about these badges. The one shown here I am thinking about buying. Any opinions on this, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Also, if this is an actual badge what were they for?

    Thanks much

    Cheers
    Brian

Not 100% sure about the one posted, though.

        Hi Brian:
The last word I've heard is that it's a supporters pin. A campaign slogan, Home in the Reich.
From your photo's it all looks period. I see what looks like a little puffiness around the top left of the H. Mabey it's just a glare. Run your thumb over it and see if it feels like the lacquer is level with the cloisonne. So far modern fakes have their lacquer poured in between the cloisonne and it is usually too much and it is kinda puffy, not flush like the originals were made. The originals will be smooth and level with the cloisonne, as they were buffed.
A little hard to describe but look at some known fakes and see the clear
lacquer how it is higher in some places and sometimes lower in others than the cloisonne. John

I was kinda figuring it to be original, being that I'm pretty good with enamel badges. But just wasn't 100% sure.

John, I don't own it yet. Was thinking about buying it. I do see what you are talking about, but I believe it to be glare

          Thanks all.
