    Various badges for review.

Going through someone's medal collection that they want to thin out. Unfortunately, there are many repros mixed into all categories of his collection. Fake helmets, hats, daggers.....and medals. Here are a bunch of different badges, in no particular order, that I would appreciate help on, if you know anything about their authenticity.
    Thanx,
    Tim

First, a Red Cross Mountain badge and another Mountain Badge, but what is it and are they real or repro?

Two Rider Badges. I have never seen the one on the right. It has an 'SA' on the bottom of it and the only swaz is the small one on the armband of the arm of the rider.

          Hi TP

Unfortunately the Red Cross Mountain badge is a fantasy piece. The red cross never sanctioned the use of the swas with there emblem as far as I know.

There is a discussion on this badge at http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=15694

The HJ Leader Sports Badge is genuine.

I believe that he would go to military shows towards the end of the day and look to pick up the "bargains", so to speak. Unfortunately, he had more money than discretion. I believe that he will just hang onto many of the gems that he has till he passes away or possibly try to sell them at antique shops. I have tried and tried again to influence him on what he buys, but he doesn't listen and goes with his gut feeling.
Out of everything that I posted yesterday, it looks like the EK1 Spange might be a good S&L, the EK1 in the same pic is a Souval, the NSFK Glider Badge is good because I sold it to him years ago and I bought it from a vet along with a small Mauser in the holster. The Anti Partisan in Bronze also appears to be good. I have to go back and take GOOD pictures of the Spanish Cross in Silver and the German Cross in Gold that doesn't have the '21' appearing on the back side.
If you saw the multiplicity of items that I didn't even bother to take pictures of, you'd be struck dumb. Some really bad repros!
Also, there were so many badges and tinnies, the sheer magnitude of it overwhelmed me. I only picked out to take pictures, the items that I thought had a bare chance of being real.
A lot of this is a repost of what I said in the Army and SS War and Qualification Badges Forum, but you asked, so I wanted to reply.

Its a shame when people do not listen and they get burned, especially when they are a friend. You should encourage your friend to be a member on here. I have learned a great deal and still learning from fellow members. I dont like getting burned nor other collectors getting burned as well. People out there looking to make a quick buck have no respect for the buyers or the hobby of collecting. Ultimately its an investment when its all said and done and I am sure that fellow collectors work hard for the money they earn and to just throw it away on fakes is a shame.

You know how some people don't like computers because they feel intimidated or are set in their ways??? This guy is one of them. An answering machine is a new-fangled device to him.
Now me, I'm on here and paying the $25 paltry dollars a year so I don't get burned. What little money I have....I don't like to waste. The guys that are members on here and use Photoshack and other web services kind of bug me because they don't want to pay $25. Later on when I try and look at pics that they posted and I see that it has been deleted as a prohibited item, it burns me up. What's $25???

And one of the most common fakes you see out there. These are sold on a lot of the repro sites.

I didn't figure that the Blood Order was real. It would appear that he bought a lot of repro stuff. What about the Rider Badges and the Hunting Association Tinnie and the Edelweiss with the Swaz in the middle. What the heck are those last 2 things??
