    S.A. Hilfswerklager "Falkenstein"

I am "flying a kite" on this one although perhaps, an event badge commemorating the inauguration of an SA (with DAF?) auxiliary camp (military and agricultural skills training and assistance) at Falkenstein in 1934?

    Regards,

    David

Fine piece and quite scarce I would think. The SA Hilfswerklagers were created to train unemployed individuals in various fields--skills needed for factory/manufacturing, agricultural, machine shop work, to name a few, were taught at the various HW camps.

          Dear Mel and Erich

Thankyou for your supportive comments and informative observations.

I always thought that this could be a rare and somewhat unusual badge, irrespective of Tieste alluding to the contrary.

          Regards,

          David

Does Tieste list it as a common badge? I don't have his set of books.

              Dear Erich

Perhaps I am correct in thinking that the two volumes of "Tagungs - und - Veranstaltungsabzeichen 1930 - 1945" by Reinhard Tieste is really all that is available on the subject at the moment.

In case you are unfamiliar, two volumes with over 500 pages to each and each page with around 12 images. Monochrome of the obverse to the badge only with an identification rather than a description.

There is however an approximate value in Euros and this is the only way to ascertain any degree of rarity.

Like any publication, there are mistakes and errors. In my opinion, listing this particular badge as common is not correct, although it matters not.

              Regards,

              David
