I believe those are laurel leaves, not oak leaves. Nice badge; one which I don't recognize either.

Only average information in my old Hüsken Catalog. The basic form is a 6 angled diamond shape enamel badge and called Stenografenschafts Abzeichen followed by the gold one and a silver one with "silver wreath"? then they mention the Silver honor 1. form and gold 1. form and then the Gold 2nd form which is yours.

It's quite a difficult branch if you consider all the organisatons only for this subject:

              Deutsche Stenographenbund
              Deutscher Stenographenbund Gabelsberger
              Deutsche Stenografenschaft (your example)
              Stenographenverband Stolze-Schrey

Wim regards for the info, any chance of what this item was worth in the day, im of the opinion that even thou this seems to be a very rare award this might not be reflected in the price, if nobody has seen one then how do you give such an item a price??Pete.

                  Hi Pete,

In 1997 it was listed at 500 DM.
