    BLut & Boden

Nice little assortment of items relating to the Blut and Boden NSDAP organization under Reichsfuher/Reichsbauernfuhrer Walther Darre - a tinnie dated 1935 from Landshut also a tinnie related to the Reichsnahrstand dated 1937 and a Blut & Boden medal awarded for winegrowing - book dated 1934 reflecting the laws inheriting property/Farms , issued by the Blut & Boden organization.

Horst Nice display. The inheritance laws were called the Imhof Laws. These laws protected farms from being broken up and soldoff in pieces by heirs. If I am not mistaken the oldest surviving son inherited a farm in its' entirety (sp) If I recall also you could not borrow against said inheritance for a certain period of time. HITLER AND THE PEASANTS by Gustavo Conti is probably the best source for information on Dr. Darre and the Food Estate. Sorry for the ramble. Nice display. Robert

Eric S. I would give my left (you know what) for that piece. I have never seen this before. What material is it made of? It would have to withstand the outside elements no? Thanks for showing it. Robert

Thanks Robert, it's made of heavy cast iron with counter suck holes on the reverese to hang on a gate etc.

A very nice grouping Horst, now all you need is a sign like mine to go with it!

Thanks all for the great information - Erich - great sign for the entrance of each Farm/Erbhof - though you would enjoy the maker of the Reichsnahrstand tinnie:

Erich The design of the gate piece looks very familiar. Is there not a WHW piece with a similar/ same design? Again, nice piece.. One a person could easily use at the homestead without offending anyone. I am lucky to have only one child (son) so no bickering when I go. HA HA

Robert - there is a fundraising tinnie for the German Youth Hostels from a set of 6 with that design (Blut-Boden)
