After seeing many first type badges as well as doing some research on them, this style is the only type that I would want in my collection. In a word,it's textbook except for the pin.

Very interesting discussion.
IMO there is 2 points on these pictures to fool almost everybody thinking it´s a fake:
1. Picture of obverse are quite bad. Maybe a fault of the light and the shine of remaining silvering (very well preserved to be this model of badge). This is the reason why the details seems very soft and looks like a casted piece.
2. The pin. In my opinion is the original one. Not replaced. Just it´s bent and broken in the end of the cach and these lacks give it an quite strange appearance. There is no traces of extra soldering in reverse, so it have to be the first one attached to the badge.
If you watch carefully the pictures of the reverse and comparing with the textbook originals of this model of badge there is no doubt: It´s a good one.
On the other hand, this with the incused lettering is the only one universaly accepted as original early SA treffen Brusnschwick badge.

I think that some see these cheap made badges as being reproductions as say compared to the later 2nd types. These badges were the ones actually sold at the event before they were an actual honor award.

Perhaps coming in a tad too late on this one chaps.

After a long time searching for the "right" badge, I finally secured one (Weitze) which I was reasonably comfortable with and henceforth, posted here:-

The originals are indeed thin, flimsy and almost cheap by fabrication and which cannot be fully appreciated unless actually in hand.

I think that the one shown here is perfectly original, although I do understand some forum members concerns.

If anyone would like some obscure and strange angle images of the one that I now hold (for future reference), then please let me know.

These early ones are faked a lot in pot metal as the originals were done...anyway here is a link to one I directly obtained from the vet's family along with a bunch of other tinnies/badges--
