I recently acquired this brooch. As you can see, it is in the form of the Odal Rune, which I understand, amongst other things can symbolise the homestead or family.
The outer border of the brooch has the following inscription, in regional dialect, and utilising runic script:
"Dat Land Ob Dat wie Stoht Is Heili Land"
This I understand is the motto of the Nordmark Hitler Youth.
As you can see from the reverse, the piece is marked with the silver content mark, 800, 'Handarbeit' (Handwork), and a makers mark (which I can't make out).
Has anyone seen anything like this before?
