VDA tinnie - impossible for me to read

Acquired this VDA tinnie. No ability to read the script on front. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also questioning what this tinnie was for - I had heard at one time that this may have had to do with veteran donations such as assisting with their heating bills. Please help!!

    Thanks,
    Todd

Todd, I believe it's translation is "For the brothers in a threatened country, warm-feeling, heart, helping hand." As you know the VDA was set up to send aid to Germans living in other countries.

      VDA tinnie

James gave you good feedback on this one - I cannot read it either with my eyes; I have the same piece.

Manion's Tinnie Guide, volume 3, lists this tinnie as picture number 1022: "VDA Badge. Metallic tin with painted inscription in fracture from a poem by the poet Goethe celebrating the unique character of the German race; stylized tree logo (the wellspring of the German virtus)."

However, I'vs also seen one of these in "rose" color and this reference does not differentiate color....

Any other feedback on this one ?
