The show`n badge is a nice original W.REDO silver grade Defence badge.

Redo never made a SA Sportbadge (SA Sportabzeichen)
Redo only made SA Defencebadges (SA Wehrabzeichen - which always without numbers) and SA Defencebadges for wounded ( SA Wehrabzeichen für Versehrte)

What is the difference the sportsbadge and defence badge?
I never realized they had 2 versions, just called them all SA sportsbadges, where does the cloth armband fit in with them and the cloth versions of the badges.
Is there a thread that explains all, or a website link?
Any help would be much appreciated.

With the 3<SUP>rd</SUP> issue of this badge in January 1939 though the duration of the war Hitler changed the name from S.A. Sportsabzeichen to S.A. Wehrabziechen. The design of the badge stayed the same, they also stopped numbering these badge at this time.
