    S.A. Treffen Badisch-Württenbg 1933

This SA Treffen badge has always puzzled me.

I thought that "Badisch" was a regional dialect and that Württemberg was spelt with an "m" rather than an "n" ?

If Baden-Baden, then possibly SA Standarte R111, as part of SA Brigade 53 Schwarzwald-Nord (Karlsruhe), as part of SA Gruppe Südwest ??

I am "flying a kite" on this one.

    Regards,

    David

David - I asked my friend about this and he said it was likely a manufacturing error. when one says "Wuerttemberg" in German one almost "swallows" the "m" and it can almost sounds like an "n". He says he is sure he knows of another piece that was originally spelled with "n" and then later corrected to "m". He can't think of which piece it is but will try to figure it out and send me some pictures if he remembers.

        Hello Curt

An interesting and surprising theory that perhaps a manufacturers error.

It is the reference to "Badisch" conjoined with the "misspell" which I find puzzling.

        Regards,

        David
