I agree, the general detail looks poor. Are these a recognised award ?

These are recognised awards and are in Foreman's and Angolia's books. In addition it is in Doehle's war time book on German awards. for HJ below the age of 16. These could be originals, though the condition is pretty bad. I've never seen repros of these, since they are so obscure. I own one in gold with a maker mark and a bronze w/o marks. These are very rare and quite valuable and are rarely on the market.

I do belive until one whit needle shows up that the maker was there on needleplate, so i hope more of these reichssiegers 1942 shows up.

Yes, there are repros and IMO, when compared to my original from a family, these are bad. I will try to find my photo of my original and post it here.
Mine came from the family in Germany and they are very rare.

Note the difference in the lettering, the box with the date and the diamond. Also, the finish is much better on the originals.

PLEASE do not use Hüskens book as ANY form of guarantee that it actually was a period piece, you only have to look on Page 568 to see the CATS ARSE AWARD for the WESTFRONT !!

Wim, you remember how we laughed about this Cats asshole badge that was once for sale at Regimentals in the UK...

There is more than 1 fantasy badge in the 2010 Hüsken catalog.
Just use it as a Guide, but not as the Word of Law. He really has not a great idea about small badges or prices.

All thought these did exists, that is proven in Period material

                        hi there guys

Well i have seen several diffrence in original badges depending who was the maker so i cant use that for sure unless it was only made by 1 guy. 2 nobody have meet these in repo yet due rarity. 3 its not the first time i meet a lack of kvality by smallbadges especally in the wartime or late wartime and the fotos might misledd a bit thoe the collor is a bit deeper blue but at this time of year its hard not to use blitz so it can be a bit misleading, but anyway i might get a expertice on these or a judgment from one of the experthouses, i know detlev is not present, so any suggestions on who makes these expertices now.

                        cheers

                          Hi There Guy.
Yes, i can only agree with you 100%
Dont use common sense, dont listen to anyone when they tell you your stuff is cheap fakes, Much better to go running off to a Con artist who will charge you a fee and then write a piece of paper saying exactly what you want to hear. Then you can come back and post the Piece of paper here, and never mind what people say, as long as you have a piece of paper from some person who NEVER has your first interests at heart, someone you dont know, someone who you have NO IDEA if he even knows the difference between a Party Badge and a saucepan, and is only out to make money.

You dont need to have ever seen one of these before, ALL you need is to have a good idea about Quality, the manufacturing process and what you should be looking for, in order to tell you that what you have hear, are three AWFUL, TERRIBLE CHEAP MODERN FAKE badges.

Now, you want to know where to go running to?
OK, Detlev Niemann has made enough money and retired thanks to collectors like you who made him very rich. There are many other criminals who know how to wield a pen and take your ca$h.. just Google search for them and you will find them.

ps: a little tip from me, ask a dealer to solder some original pins onto the backs first, that way you will you stand a better chance of getting a Thumbs up.

Come on man, do some homework, look around at the small enamel badges produced during the 3rd reich, look at the quality, material, markings etc etc... and then, you can make up your own mind without wasting money on some COA writer who does not know what he is doing and just wants your cash.

Sad that there are still collectors who seriously believe this COA money making rubbish.

@ Jos Fuess: Yes I remember that Cat asshole somewhere ...

@ Ron Weinand: That's a completly different level of quality. I believe years ago, Wittmann also had a genuine example for sale and it is depicted in one of his catalogs.

@ Carsten: Note the poorly formed swastika and the very poor dot pattern underneath the red translucent enamel compared to the Weinand example. IMO they doesn't have any chance.
