Brunswick Rally badge worn by an Oberleutnant in the Luftwaffe. Flyer is a Beobachter with a Recon. unit. Note also that he is wearing an NSDAP long service docoration on his ribbon bar (looks like it is probably a 10 year ribbon).

Very interesting photograph Jeremy. That is definately a 10 Year NSDAP long service decoration on the ribbon bar...followed by what looks like the Anschluss and Sudetenland ribbons. It would seem this guy was not always in an aircraft!
