    SS-Helferin question....help!

Would it be appropriate for an SS-Helferin to wear an N.S. FRAUENSCHAFT pin?

As I understand it, the N.S. FRAUENSCHAFT was an organization that a woman could be a member of, like someone could choose to be a mamber of the N.S.D.A.P for example. Obviously a member of the N.S.D.A.P could be in the Waffen-SS, Heer...... So, if a woman joined the N.S. FRAUENSCHAFT, could she also be an SS-Helferin, Heer Helferin, DRK nurse...etc??

Need someone with some understanding on this topic to clarify for me!!

    Thanks in advance!

I can speak for DRK members: Yes, they commonly wore the NS-Frauenschafts badge to their uniforms when they were members.

In theory i think it would be possible as the frauenschaft was as a NSDAP and NS organisation approved, although im not sure what the exact regulations were in regards to women being in the SS and wearing other insignia? For example the SS helferinnen silver clasp should be worn on the uniform while on duty as well as off duty on civilian dresses, but the question would be more: were other female insignia also allowed while on duty? And could women who joined the SS be as well be a member of other organisations? Common sense tells me that would be ok? Although i could be off here, as don't have any books with me at the moment i can't check now....

Do you maybe have found some rare pictures?

im still hoping one day the SS female silver "helferinnen" clasp will show up on a photo...

      best regards,
      Gaston
