    HJ Ehrenzeichen für verdiente Ausländer

My friend have this badge. He got it from a Norwegian w-ss/NSUF vet.
This badge was awarded in Germany when reciever was on course/gathering there during the war. I guess it is a qite rare badge.
Here are also pics of owner with this badge on his uniform.
Further opinions/info about such badge are welcomed please.
    Cheers

I haven´t my reference books here now, but I´d say this isn´t the tipical reverse. Rivets are not as they must be, and the pin neither.

To me the badge does not look right. The front has many good features, but the lettering and the finishing details do not appear up to par. The rivets on the reverse, along with the appearance of the finish would be of concern. Of course, the solder may indicate a repair, accounting for the appearance.
There are some very good copies of this rare award.

Here is an original for comparison.

One of a small quantity acquired from a veteran some years ago.

I have seen this badge before, it was posted on GMIC forum in August 2008, personally I do not have a problem with it.

These badges do not have rivets, the eagle is held in position by poles that are soldered into place. I imagine what has happened here is that the pin & plate have been replaced, during the process the high temperature has melted the solder that holds the eagles poles making them appear different to normal.

Here's mine, it's not as clean as it looks, that is due to the bright light of the scanner

            Cheers

This badge must have been made in 1941 or before, since owner got it in 1941. Maybe another variant pin & plate or replaced? What is value, before it hit E-stand?
              Thanks so far.

According to Patzwall these badges were introduced in 1941.

I like the one in the first picture as well and would have no problem with it.

Also as Dons says about the melted solder, very nice rare badge!
