    Cloth SA Sports Badge Review

    Hi Fellows,

Don't know whether this is the right section to post this thread. Do you think this example is authentic? I was told that the thread balls up when being burned & it glows under blacklight. Are these tests conclusive to determine whether it is a repro?

      cloth badges

These were sold by J. Floch at gunshows in the 80's and are believed to be fakes. The background material has nylon in it--it glows brightly because of the fabric treatment and they were artificially aged/dirtied as was a lot of other repro bevo insignia sold by him. They went for around $3.00 or so at the time.
      I'm 100% certain that it's a fake.

        Agreed.

The tight weave at the back shouts FAKE. Originals had the loose threads.

        Regards,

        Robin.
