    Railroad Insignia? Help Please!!

I just posted this in the Civil Org. section and hope someone here might also be able to help. I think this might be railroad insignia but I`m not sure. It does have the Assman mark on the back. Thanks for any info!!

looks to me like a Deutsche Reichsbahn (railways) collar tab. Cheers, Torsten.

Isn't this one half of the cap insignia? (the other wing is missing)

Now that i look at it it seems like the center of the hat insignia. I responded to the other thread, and found some photos of the tabs. They tend to break at this area. Even collar tabs are sometimes stitched to help keep them in place...here are a couple of the tabs shots, but as wood said this looks more like a hat emblem. If you notice closely these are both stitched and broken on the opposite side of where they stitched it.

            heres a different tab unstitched

I have always thought the railway hat with this insignia was an attractive emblem , and the railways items never get the respect for the immense job they did in any countrys armys. Yours is an assman with the A on the back of the wheel. Good maker.

Pete, I think you're right. It does look more like a cap badge rather than a collar tab ... Cheers, Torsten.
