    There is a fake Fuess GPB on a dealers site at this time. Buyer beware!

      For those interested, the letter font is incorrect along with the MM and red enamel. These badges came out of Austria back in the 80's and are probably in many collections.

          I notified the dealer of the problem and I hope that he removes it from his site. We collectors must watch out for each other when a fake is offered as an original!

                Yep - classic repeating numbers, uniform letters in the red enamel and tall "C" in "MUNCHEN" of an "Austrian fake".

                    I agree Don...that is not one I would want. Lettering on the obverse and mm on the catch plate is not consistent with originals...imo

                      I always look at the red enamel on this kind of fake, it is horizontal lines instead of pebbling in the reflection of the light on the scanner.

                        It's a shame that there are probably more than a few of these badges in more advanced collections owned by otherwise knowing collectors. The only way they seem to come to light is when the go up for sale.

                          That is so true, and i'm sure many of them wont ever come up for sale and will always be "original".
