my main concern is the positioning of the "Z" on the rzm
is that typical or??

With just a rzm mark and ges. Gesch is considered to be a bad sign. Transitional pieces have a number accompanied with the rzm and ges. Gesch markings. Ex. Rzm 29 ges. Gesch. Not one that i would feel comfortable owning. All the best.

This pin IMO does have some flags that would steer me away. The rzm is ify and as Tom pointed out this doesnt really fit the transitional period or the latter when they started to use the prefix.
But try the nsdap database thread, there is a wealth of info there which can help.
