Erich, you sure you didn't look at #311 here: http://www.germancombatawards.com/th...threadid=22215

The guys at GCA gave #312 a , the same that Maus = friame is asking about here at WAF:
        http://www.germancombatawards.com/th...threadid=22214

Upon a second closer look, I see a few suspicious things:

The font is wider than it should.
Letters touching, that should not - OZ and ST.
The hyphen between L and S in the wrong position.
        A few common flaws missing.
The background of the red enamel.

I am with Erich (lesson learned from the other day - look closely and compare with originals !!!).

The above reasons say it all.

How about the so -called - "second pattern" like that was used on some late Honour GPB's? I thought we saw that on WWMF and was brought under attebtion by Stephen????

              Regards, Wim

That's right but it can be discussed everywhere., I don't care about that. The only thing I care about is the second pattern with other stippling and lettering. Weitze had such examples for sale about half a year back. You are very busy with Golden Party pins so I assume you can remember them very well.

                  Regards, Wim

Maybe I am too sentimental, but I liked the dedicated GPB section and the mixture of experts and newbies at the WWM. No nuts who try to seed a doubt on perfectly fine examples like in another thread right here at WAF. I'm going to miss WWM.

Guess what, Wim ? I filed Helmut's "second pattern" under fakes - or at least extremely dubious - and did not spend any more time looking at it after that. I do not think even perfect reputation dealers - do these exist ??? - are always right; way too much stuff around ! Pictures of the piece may have made it into the fakes section at WWM, but ... and I did not keep them.

That being said, I am looking forward to learn something new.

I'm not a fan of the so called second patterns either.

Hi guy's , I respect your thoughts. you're both well known with the GPB. I only remembered that we discussed them but didn't rememember the final conclusion. So to put things straight, we still going out from one and the same frontal die for all the large GPB disc's with identical lettering, from the early moments this awards was bestowed, to the latest honour versions that were given by Hitler.

                          Regards, Wim
